Senior Pastor
Reverend Darrell Coble has retired after serving as the Senior Pastor of Parkwood for over 35 years.
He has led our Church in reaching out to the community to introduce them to the Lord. Reverend Coble is very well respected in the community, and has worked in co-operation with other Ministers in our county while being involved in many local ministries. He has a heart for people and a heart for God. He loves to be around people of all ages, especially children. He and his wife Phyllis love spending time with their five grandchildren. Reverend Coble will continue in his call to ministry by serving as "interim pastor" for churches in the area and will continue to reach out to people with God's love.
Please join with us in prayer for Darrell and his wife Phyllis as they begin the next part of their exciting ministry journey.

Associate Pastor / Family Ministries
Rev. Steve Davis has served in the ministry for over fifteen years working with Children, Youth, and Education ministries. He directs our Family Ministries and is involved with all age groups at Parkwood. Steve loves to study, preach, and teach God's word. Steve regularly leads study groups on various topics and has a desire to lead our church family to have a "christian world view" of the world around us. Steve serves with his wife Leigh Ann and their three girls Ashleigh, Allison, and Anna.

Minister for the Deaf and Senior Adults
Rev. Bo Sherrill has served in Christian Ministry for over eighteen years. He and his wife Glenda have been a tag-team in ministering to all ages of deaf people for many years, and since he has been on staff at Parkwood has ministered to both hearing and deaf Senior Adults. Bo and Glenda have ministered to many in the deaf community as they interpret for Doctor visits, legal matters, education classes, and other needs. Bo has a caring and compassionate heart toward our Senior adults and ministers to Senior Adults at Parkwood and other churches in our association. Bo and Glenda's two children- Chad and Amanda have also been a part of their deaf ministry.

"Much of Parkwood's growth has been contributed to the faithfulness, determination and sacrifice of our Senior Adults. The desire that I have for the Senior Adult Ministry is to see our senior men & women continue being an active part in all phases of ministry here at Parkwood. To continue finding ways to minister to the Parkwood Community, and to allow their lives to be a positive influence to all memebers of Parkwood Baptist Church."

Minister of Youth
Rev. John Johnson has worked with Church Youth Groups for about fifteen years and has a heart to reach all people for Christ. During his ministry he has worked with Youth, Children and Adult groups. He has a heart for evangalism. He loves the Youth ministry and is leading them to know and grow closer to Christ. He is joined in service to the Lord by his wife Anita and daughters Hannah, and Katie.

Children's Pastor
Mr . Chris Smith felt God's call into ministry during the summer of 1997 while I was serving at Ft. Caswell Baptist Youth Camp. Since that time, he has been involved in a variety of ministries, both in the church and in the community. He served as summer camp director for two summers during 1998 and 1999. He has have worked with “Young Life”, a ministry to high school students within the community, for the past eight years, helping to disciple high school students and show them Jesus truly is the way. He served as youth pastor of North Kannapolis Baptist and Lakewood Baptist Church . He has been a teacher for the 2nd grade in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system for the past three years.

Music Minister
Mr. Byron O'Daniel has served on staff as music minister for about twenty two years in several churches. During this time he has directed Church and Associational choirs, Children and Youth choirs, and led and directed Church Musicals and Cantatas. Byron's warm spirit encourages all that are part of the Music Ministry to go beyond what they can do and trust God for what He will do through them.
